Taylor Steele is an award-winning director and producer, who broke new ground at the young age of seventeen with the release of the surf film ‘Momentum’. This led to the establishment of his own production company named ‘Poor Specimen’. Over the next two decades he went on to direct and produce over forty best-selling titles, starring the world's best surfers and musicians.

Taylor's travel and surf documentaries have garnered numerous awards and accolades. These include a showcase at the National Geographic headquarters
and the 2010 Maui Film Festival's prestigious Beacon Award. In addition Castles in the Sky won the audience choice award for Most Visionary Documentary.

Taylor strives to make films that in his words “evoke the feeling of a memory, yet have the sense that they’re happening right now.”  That sensibility is imprinted on all his work, from his cutting-edge surf films to his recent spots for Corona.  For Taylor, capturing any lifestyle driven film is about finding both the honesty and beauty of that ‘world’. It’s that aesthetic that’s made his move into advertising a seamless transition.

Currently working as the Creative Director of Corona for Australia, he now focuses on commercial directing. This includes for numerous international brands, music production and art collaborations.  Some of which have featured at the Gagosian Gallery NY and the Venice Biennale.  Currently in the works is also the development of his first feature film, under his ever-evolving production company ‘Sipping Jetstreams Media’.

When he isn't travelling the world, he can be found steps from the sand and surf in his new 'office' at La Casa Artist Residency. La Casa is a beach house
sponsored by Corona, which merges his lifetime of eclectic interests into an innovative mix of artistic collaborations.
